Delegation from the University of Graz, Austria, Visits Our University

On May 30, Chen Wanjie, Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz, Austria, and Wu Lijuan, China Regional Head of the Global Young Leaders Program, visited our university. President Li Tiejun met with the delegation, and Vice President Zhao Geng attended the talks.

President Li Tiejun extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed hope that both sides would deepen exchanges based on previous cooperation, expand collaborative fields, and enhance partnership levels to achieve more fruitful outcomes in academic research and talent cultivation.

During the discussions, Vice President Zhao Geng introduced our university’s disciplinary strengths and achievements in international education. He emphasized that the university has long been committed to building platforms for international educational exchanges and fostering an open and inclusive education system. He looked forward to in-depth collaboration with the University of Graz in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, scientific research, and innovation, promoting mutual growth and success for both institutions.

Chen Wanjie highlighted the strengths of the University of Graz in fields such as engineering technology and natural sciences. He hoped that this visit would serve as a new starting point for both universities to strengthen exchanges and cooperation through initiatives such as overseas programs, faculty and student exchanges, short-term study programs, and Chinese language workshops. He also extended a sincere invitation for our university to participate in the 7th "Belt and Road" China Forum to be held in Austria.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaborations, including overseas academic programs, summer study trips for students, and the "Global Innovation Leadership" summer camp in Austria, as well as specific implementation measures.

During their visit, the delegation also toured our university’s History Museum and Tie Yang Art Gallery. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and the School of Economics and Management attended the meeting.
