On April 10, the opening ceremony of the 6th Graduate Academic Festival of Hebei University of Science and Technology (HEBUST) was held in the Library Lecture Hall, along with the 2026 Hebei Province Scientific Ethics and Academic Integrity Publicity Report. Vice President Zhang Dongli attended the event.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Zhang Dongli, on behalf of the university, extended warm congratulations on the launch of the Academic Festival. She noted that this year’s Academic Festival, themed "Seventy Years of Rigorous Study · A Long Journey of Research," is both a heartfelt reflection on the university’s history and an active response to the mission of graduate education in the new era. She emphasized that graduate education at the university should build on this new starting point, focus on high-quality development, accurately understand the mission of the times, deepen graduate education reforms, and stimulate new momentum — guiding graduate students to achieve excellence through academic practice. She encouraged all graduate students to stay true to their academic aspirations, adhere to research integrity, and serve the high-quality economic and social development of Hebei with solid research results.

Professor Su Ru, Dean of the Graduate School, introduced the four major sections of the Academic Festival: "Guidance by Renowned Scholars," "Peer Support," "Mentor-Mentee Bond," and "Integration for the Future." The Academic Festival will run from April to June, featuring deep collaboration with alumni resources to carry forward HEBUST’s spirit, integrated undergraduate-graduate collaborative education, mentorship-based ideological and political education throughout the process, interdisciplinary innovation leadership, and a concentrated showcase of achievements — all aiming to create a vibrant academic atmosphere on campus.

Graduate student representatives took an oath on academic integrity. University leaders and graduate student representatives jointly pressed the launch button, officially opening the Academic Festival.

At the subsequent 2026 Hebei Province Scientific Ethics and Academic Integrity Publicity Report, Researcher Yang Weiping from the Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered a keynote report titled "Research Integrity and Academic Norms: Reflections on Academic 'Unwritten Rules'." Using a wealth of typical cases, he thoroughly analyzed the origins, current status, and approaches to addressing research integrity issues, calling on teachers and students to respect academic norms and uphold the bottom line of research integrity.
