University Holds Forum on Off-Campus Practical Education Base Development themed "Integration of Industry and Education --Practice and Innovation"

On April 9, our university held a Forum on Off-Campus Practical Education Base Development themed "Integration of Industry and Education--Practice and Innovation". Industry elites and representatives from partner enterprises gathered to discuss new pathways for practice-oriented education and explore new models of industry-education integration. Vice President Li Fatang attended and delivered a speech at the forum.

Li Fatang reviewed the university's century-old heritage in engineering education and seven decades of higher education development. He introduced the remarkable achievements made in discipline construction, scientific and technological innovation, and talent cultivation, and summarized the solid progress in jointly building practical education bases with enterprises and advancing industry-education integration. He noted that the university will take the 70th anniversary of its founding as a new starting point to deepen collaborative education, expand areas of cooperation, and join hands with all partners to foster a mutually beneficial new landscape of industry-education integration. The university will integrate educational resources, pool development forces, and promote the organic connection of the education chain, talent chain, industrial chain, and innovation chain.

Leaders from the Academic Affairs Office, Enrollment and Employment Office, and Technology Transfer Center of our university reported on the development of off-campus practical education bases, graduate employment, and industry-university-research cooperation respectively. Heads of the School of Food Science and Technology and the School of Mechanical Engineering shared distinctive practical teaching models and reflective experiences, demonstrating the university's solid measures in practice-oriented education and industry-education integration.

Representatives from Dongfeng Longqing Power Co., Ltd., Hebei Construction Group, CSPC Pharmaceutical Group, Milebear Apparel Co., Ltd. and other enterprises delivered speeches on their experiences. Combining corporate development practices and talent demands, they shared valuable experience and cutting-edge perspectives on university-enterprise cooperation, providing important references for deepening collaborative education between universities and enterprises.

The forum also recognized and awarded outstanding partner enterprises and exemplary individuals for their significant contributions to university-enterprise cooperation, encouraging further deepening of cooperation and new achievements.

As one of the academic exchange activities for the university's 70th anniversary, this forum built a platform for in-depth university-enterprise exchanges and cooperation, injecting new vitality into the integrated development of education, technology, and talent. Moving forward, the university will continue to optimize the layout of off-campus practical education bases, improve the management system, deepen connotation construction, innovate cooperation models, and foster a long-term and stable strategic university-enterprise cooperation community. The aim is to cultivate more high-quality application-oriented talents and better serve regional economic and social development.

More than 80 people attended the forum, including representatives of off-campus practical education bases, and leaders from the Academic Affairs Office, Research Institute, Enrollment and Employment Office, Institute of Higher Education, Technology Transfer Center, as well as relevant personnel from various schools of our university.

At present, our university has established off-campus practical education bases covering all undergraduate majors. By improving management systems, strengthening educational functions, and promoting industry-education integration, the university has achieved both quantity expansion and quality improvement of the bases. More than 70% of graduation projects (theses) are derived from real enterprise projects, and two provincial-level modern industry colleges have been approved for construction.
