Seventy years of melodious songs, the torch of heritage passed on from generation to generation; dedicated to undertakings and fulfilling responsibilities, a new journey sets sail once again. On June 6, 2026, Hebei University of Science and Technology will celebrate its 70th anniversary. Since the release of the First Announcement of the Anniversary Celebration, alumni at home and abroad, friends from all walks of life, as well as faculty, staff and students of the university have shown great concern and provided generous support for the preparation work of the anniversary. We hereby express our highest respect and sincere gratitude to all of you!
After extensive solicitation and selection in the early stage, integrating the needs of cultural inheritance, emotional resonance and communication, the anniversary theme, logo and IP image have now been finalized, and the special anniversary website has been officially launched. The details are announced as follows:
I. Anniversary Theme
The three time scales of "a century", "seventy years" and "thirty years" accurately mark three crucial milestones in the development of the university.
"A Century of Engineering Education" traces its origin back to the initiation of "engineering-industry collaboration" at Zhili Industrial Supplementary School in 1909. Over a century of heritage, it has formed a profound educational tradition and historical accumulation, vividly interpreting the genes and characteristics of "establishing the university based on engineering".
"Seventy Years of Higher Education" takes 1956 as the first year of the university's higher education operation. For seventy years, it has been committed to the fertile soil of higher education, continuously cultivating generations of high-quality talents who contribute to the development of industry and the prosperity of the country through science and technology.
"Thirty Years in the Prime of Youth" takes the merger and renaming of the university in 1996 as a new starting point. It has integrated resources to expand its layout, broken through bottlenecks to reach new heights, and demonstrated a vigorous and enterprising youthful spirit with its bold and responsible actions.
Starting from the profound accumulation of "a century of engineering education", carrying forward the mission passed down through "seventy years of higher education", and setting sail for the vigorous new life of "thirty years in the prime of youth", the theme not only reviews the university's century-old academic context in the field of engineering, but also engraves the spiritual mark of seventy years of unwavering commitment and responsibility in higher education, and further demonstrates the vigorous vitality of the university's development in the new stage of thirty years with the high-spirited momentum of "being in the prime of youth".
II. Anniversary Logo
The anniversary logo features the number "70" as its main body, presenting a solemn yet dynamic overall image, and skillfully integrating three sections of visual narratives.
The Power of Numbers: The three main lines composing the number "70" symbolize the three educational contexts of the university, namely "a century of engineering education, seventy years of higher education and thirty years in the prime of youth". The number "7" is shaped like a roc spreading its wings and soaring upward, showing the pioneering momentum of the university since it launched higher education in 1956.
The Form of Annual Rings: The number "0" is designed like the annual rings of time, surrounded by concentric circles layer by layer, engraving the development marks of the university's "accumulation, integration and growth".
The Chain of Genes: The continuous and interlaced lines incorporate the DNA chain imagery of the university emblem, implying the inheritance and endless vitality of the cultural bloodline.
In terms of color, "Ode to Joy Red" is used as the main color for the celebration, with "Technology Blue" and "Magnificent Chapter Gold" as the auxiliary visual colors. Together, they construct a three-dimensional color narrative that carries historical heritage, highlights educational characteristics and indicates the mission of the times, which can be adapted for use in different scenarios.
"Ode to Joy Red" signifies the joy and excitement of the celebration, and is also imbued with the red gene in the university's spiritual spectrum; "Technology Blue", the exclusive color of the university emblem, is rational and profound, interpreting the profound nourishment of a century of engineering education and the development characteristics of upholding integrity and innovation; "Magnificent Chapter Gold" not only highlights the pioneering spirit of perseverance and determination, but also symbolizes the brilliant answer sheet of the times.
III. IP Image (Ke Bao)
Ke Bao takes a vivid, approachable and technological robot as its main shape, with "Technology Blue" and "Pure White" as the main colors, embodying the spiritual core of the integration of science & technology and humanity.
The design details incorporate the university's cultural elements. The antenna on Ke Bao's head is derived from the upward-extending tip of the DNA chain in the university emblem, symbolizing the continuous exploration of the boundaries of knowledge; the rounded sound-receiving devices on both sides cleverly adopt the outline of the library building, integrating the warm imagery of the "palace of knowledge" into the technological sense; the seven symmetrical energy blocks elaborately designed on the chest symbolize the academic energy and spiritual strength accumulated during the university's seventy-year educational journey, with the 70th anniversary logo embedded in the main energy block, serving as the visual focus of the anniversary theme; the university emblem embedded on the back of the hands is like an "identity medal", conveying the sense of belonging and honor of "members of Hebei University of Science and Technology"; the patterns on the mecha chest plate are taken from the architectural outline of the public teaching building, allowing teachers and students to naturally associate Ke Bao with the focused study time and growth footprint in the classrooms.
IV. Special Anniversary Website
With a solemn and elegant visual language and a clear and orderly functional layout, the 70th anniversary special website comprehensively presents the warmth and depth of the anniversary celebration.
The cover of the website features an anniversary gate, with Chinese red and cloud patterns as the background tone. The rich red color not only carries the profound heritage of the years, but also exudes a festive and lively atmosphere. The 70th anniversary logo is prominently embedded on the left side of the gate, and the anniversary theme text is matched on the right side, conveying the spiritual core of the celebration through concise and powerful expressions. The anniversary gate simulates the meaning of "opening the curtain" by "slowly opening to both sides", inviting every visitor to jointly push open the door of time and step into the 70th anniversary celebration of Hebei University of Science and Technology.
The main interface of the website sets up 7 core sections, including News & Information, Notices & Announcements, Anniversary Highlights, Historical Evolution, Alumni Achievements, Light & Shadow of HEBUST, and Anniversary Donations. At present, the content of each section is constantly being enriched, and some functions are also being continuously improved. We welcome everyone to browse, use and actively provide content materials.
