University of Waikato Paid a Friendly Visit to Hebust

Prof. Ed Weymes, Deputy-chancellor of Waikato University, New Zealand,paid a friendly visit to Hebust on December 11, with Ms. Mulan, director of Waikato’s International Program. President Sun Hexu met the guests, and exchanged gifts with prof. Ed Weymes. Hebust deputy president, prof. Jin Zhanzhong and director of the Foreign Affairs Office had a discussion withthe guests.
 
The two parties discussed the Chinese-foreign joint undergraduate education program supervised by the ministry of education. Based on the program objective, the two parties discussed that the Waikato University sends professional teachers to Hebust, Hebust introduces corresponding courses of Waikato andthe two parties co-developa teaching plan for the program, etc. According to the discussion, the two parties will sign a letter of intent of joint education program, based on which, the two partieswill carry out mutual credit recognition, 2 + 2 or 3 + 1 double degree programs in more disciplines.
 
Waikato University was founded in 1964, as one of the 8 publicly funded universities in New Zealand. Waikato has a total enrolment of 13000 students withover 2200 international studentsfrom more than 70 countries. Waikato University enjoys a high reputation in the world, especially inthe areas of laws, management, computer science, natural science and pedagogy. It is known as Harvard of Southern Hemisphere.
