The Delegation from Western Michigan University Visited Hebust

On the afternoon of May 21, Ms. Cathleen Fuller, Director of International Office in the Western Michigan University and Director of China office paid a visit to our university.

Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange had a communicational discussion with the guests. They discussed the program of international cooperation in running schools. It is about the Chinese-foreign joint undergraduate education program in electric engineering and mechanical engineering majors supervised by the Ministry of Education. They also talked the possibility of cooperation in other fields such as teachers exchanging, credit system, students communication, students exchanging and so on. After the discussion, a cooperation memorandum was signed.

During the visiting, Ms. Fuller gave students a lecture about studying at US colleges. She also introduced the majors in Western Michigan University, requirements and procedures. Then she had an interaction activity with students and answered their questions about studying and living in US.

Western Michigan University is a public university established in 1903 which located in City Kalamazoo, Michigan. It covers an area of 1200 acres and has Art and Science school, Aviation school, Business school, Engineering and Applied Science School, Art School, Hygiene and Public Service School and Graduate School.

The university supplies 140 bachelor’s degrees, 67 master degrees, one associate's degree and 29 doctorates. The university owns modern facility, world-class aviation school, pre-medicine school and public service clinic. The campus is near to engineer campus, a famous Gallery and a well-equipped student center.
