The five years of the "14th Five-Year Plan" have been a magnificent chapter in which all faculty, students and staff have worked diligently to fulfill the grand blueprint. We have courageously undertaken the mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, fully implemented the fundamental task of moral education, forged ahead in such fields as Party building, talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, as well as international exchanges and cooperation, and jointly depicted a grand blueprint for the high-quality development of University of Science and Technology.
Standing at the historical juncture where the "14th Five-Year Plan" has been successfully concluded and the grand vision of the "15th Five-Year Plan" awaits to be unfolded, to freeze the wonderful moments and enlighten the future, we hereby select the representative highlights from various fields starting today, so as to gather the strength for forging ahead.
Launched today — New Achievements in Social Services
Proactively Contributing to National Strategies
- Implemented the Action Plan for Serving Economic and Social Development, with a focus on 10 projects serving industrial development.
- Established research institutes to deeply participate in the construction of Xiong’an New Area, and became a member of the Xiong’an University Collaborative Innovation Alliance.
- Carried out the “1+N” cooperation with more than 10 universities in Beijing and Tianjin, including the University of Science and Technology Beijing.
- Participated in the volunteer service work for the Beijing Winter Olympics and was awarded the Advanced Collective of Hebei Province.
Empowering the In-depth Integration of Regional Innovation
- Established the Luquan Industrial Innovation Research Institute of Hebei University of Science and Technology
- Set up 3 new technology transfer sub-centers, with the total number reaching 15
- Founded Hebei University of Science and Technology Technology Transfer Co., Ltd.
- Approved as one of the first batch of scientific and technological achievement output bases in Hebei Province
- Co-founded the Hebei Carbon Metrology Center
- Selected as a governing unit of the China University-Enterprise Collaborative Innovation Platform (thousand Universities and Ten thousand Enterprises)
Steady Progress in Science and Technology Services
- Took the lead in establishing 10 provincial-level characteristic industry science and technology mission teams, such as the one for Anping Wire Mesh.
- Took the lead in organizing 137 missions of provincial-level specialized, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative “Little Giant” task forces.
- Dispatched more than 2000 person-times of special commissioners at all levels and in various categories.
- Trained 45 certified technology brokers.
Win-Win Cooperation between the University, Local Governments and Enterprises
- Signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with 41 local governments and 158 enterprises.
- Carried out the "Hundred Counties, thousand Enterprises and Ten thousand Alumni" visit activity, and established cooperative relations with 328 counties and 1,450 enterprises inside and outside the province.
- Signed more than 2,400 horizontal research projects, with the received funding increasing by 172% compared with the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.

- Approved as a national public service node for intellectual property information.
- Among the first batch to pass the implementation of the Specifications for Intellectual Property Management in Institutions of Higher Education.

- Transformed 310 patents, an increase of 177% compared with the “13th Five-Year Plan” period.

New-Type think Tank: Pooling Wisdom and Offering Strategies
- Recognized as one of the first think tank research bases of the Hebei Association for Science and Technology.
- Took the lead in compiling the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Protection and Application of Intellectual Property in Hebei Province and the Outline for the Construction of a Province with Strong Intellectual Property Rights (2021-2035).
- Took the lead in formulating the Hebei local standard Guidelines for the Classification and Graded Management of Patents.
- Took the lead in formulating the Shijiazhuang Digital Economy Promotion Regulations.
- Received a total of 43 instructions from provincial and municipal levels.
