On April 7, international students and foreign faculty members from HEBUST were deeply involved in the “Art Education Series” practice course hosted at Tieyang Art Museum. Together with schoolmates and teachers on campus, they wielded paintbrushes to explore aesthetics through creative endeavors, embarking on an artistic journey that brought unforgettable cultural experiences.

Guided by professional instructors,  the international attendees learned painting techniques and created original creative artworks. Reflecting on the experience, Gabonese student Jin Chen shared, “This was my first attempt at gouache painting. The instructors’ patient guidance helped me discover the joy of art and better appreciate the unique ambiance of China’s art education.” French teacher Ma Wenkai commented, “Art transcends national boundaries. Such activities enable international teachers and students to engage with campus culture while strengthening communication with Chinese teachers and students.

This event represents a important measure by the Office of International Affairs and School of International Education to implement the “cultural education” concept. Moving forward, both units will intensify partnerships with Tieyang Art Museum to create more opportunities for international faculty and students to engage deeply with Chinese culture and promote cross-cultural exchanges. The ultimate goals remain fostering multicultural integration, enhancing the influence of international education, and building bridges of cultural understanding.
