On March 18, our university held the general election congress of the Educational and Teaching Supervision Committee. Li Fatang, Vice President of the university, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Song Jinghua, Director of the 6th Teaching Supervision Committee, presented a work report, and Hu Yongqi, Director of the 7th Educational and Teaching Supervision Committee, outlined the work plan for the new term.

On behalf of the Sixth Supervision Committee, Song Jinghua reviewed the committee’s achievements over the past three years and expressed expectations for the new committee. He noted that the Sixth Supervision Committee adhered to advanced principles, continuously optimized and innovated supervision and evaluation methods, and played an active role in the university’s teaching quality assurance system. He expressed hope that the new Supervision Committee would earnestly summarize experience, focus on the goal of building a first-class university, further promote the institutionalization, standardization and scientization of supervision work, deepen the reform of educational and teaching supervision and the construction of quality culture, and make greater contributions to the new development of the university's education and teaching.

Hu Yongqi said that the new Supervision Committee would uphold its original aspiration, closely focus on the university's development strategy and the core goal of talent cultivation, anchor the core positioning of supervision work, and grasp the political and professional directions accurately. It will adhere to the strict principle, build a solid defense line for the quality of education and teaching, improve the normalized supervision mechanism, and conduct precise supervision over the entire process of education and teaching. It will strengthen coordination and linkage, enhance communication and cooperation among departments, and construct an efficient working pattern of information sharing and linked rectification. It will also strengthen empowerment for education, promote the professional development of teachers and the all-round growth of students, and drive the high-quality development of the university's education and teaching.

On behalf of the university, Li Fatang expressed gratitude to the members of the 6th Supervision Committee for their hard work and put forward requirements for the members of the new committee. They should strengthen learning, deeply understand the new requirements of educational development, and further clarify the goals of supervision work; keep pace with the times, fully comprehend the new mission of supervision work, strengthen quality monitoring in such aspects as the university spirit, teaching and learning atmospheres, the construction of teaching staff and specialty development, and promote the in-depth integration of education and teaching; adhere to the original aspiration, act as both guardians and referees of the quality of education and teaching, and also be good mentors for teachers' growth, so as to show a new demeanor of the supervision team.

At the meeting, honorary certificates were awarded to the members of the 6th Supervision Committee, and appointment letters were presented to the members of the 7th Supervision Committee.

Following the general election congress, the 7th Educational and Teaching Supervision Committee held its first working meeting. All members studied the Charter of the Educational and Teaching Supervision Committee of Hebei University of Science and Technology and the Measures for the Administration of the Teaching Supervision Committee of Hebei University of Science and Technology. Guo Wendong, Deputy Director of the committee, explained the working mechanism and task requirements of the Supervision Committee.

The meeting was attended by members of the 6th and 7th Supervision Committees, persons in charge of the Teacher Training Center, the Academic Affairs Office and the Institute of Higher Education, as well as vice deans (deputy directors) in charge of teaching work of all teaching units.
