Five Years of Endeavors, Bountiful Fruits in Sight

The five years of the "14th Five-Year Plan" have been a magnificent chapter in which all faculty, students and staff have worked diligently to fulfill the grand blueprint. We have courageously undertaken the mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, fully implemented the fundamental task of moral education, forged ahead in such fields as Party building, talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, as well as international exchanges and cooperation, and jointly depicted a grand blueprint for the high-quality development of University of Science and Technology.

Standing at the historical juncture where the "14th Five-Year Plan" has been successfully concluded and the grand vision of the "15th Five-Year Plan" awaits to be unfolded, to freeze the wonderful moments and enlighten the future, we hereby select the representative highlights from various fields starting today, so as to gather the strength for forging ahead.

Launched today - A new paradigm of international exchange

International Cooperation Network: Interconnection and Integration

-Established new cooperative relations with 50 universities and research institutions from 19 countries (regions)

-Signed 14 cooperation agreements

-Cumulatively carried out cooperation with 180 universities and research institutions from 49 countries (regions)

Remarkable Achievements in Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education

-The student enrollment scale of 9 Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs has reached 3,000, and 1,094 students have obtained double degrees.

-The Metal Materials Engineering major has been awarded the only exemplary undergraduate Chinese-foreign cooperative education program in Hebei Province.

-127 foreign courses have been introduced, and 119 foreign teachers have been appointed.

Attracting Talents and Wisdom to Gather Intellectual Resources

-Secured 24 national and provincial-level foreign expert and intellectual introduction projects and platforms.

-Was awarded the titles of Hebei Provincial Talent Introduction Demonstration Base, Foreign Academician Workstation and Key Disciplines for Intellectual Introduction in Hebei Province.

-Hosted more than 30 international academic exchange activities, and over 60 foreign experts came to the university to give lectures.

Cooperation, Innovation and Joint Progress

-Co-founded the Collaborative Innovation Center for the Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution in Hebei Province with Federation University Australia.

-Co-established the China-ROK Fashion Culture and Design Research Center with Sookmyung Women's University of South Korea.

-Hosts the China-ROK Textile and Garment Joint Design Exhibition every year and participates in the China International College Students Fashion Week.

-Holds the Dragon Star National College Students Green Design Competition annually.

International Exchanges for Teachers and Students Go Deeper and More Solid

-348 faculty, students and staff have gone abroad for study and exchange.

-34 teachers have been appointed as doctoral supervisors at overseas universities.

-6 faculty and students have been approved for projects of the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Erasmus+ Programme for the first time.

-7 volunteers have gone to Russia, South Korea, Thailand and other countries to work as international Chinese teachers.

Steady Progress in the Cultivation of International Students

-Enrolled 292 international students from 23 countries.

-Launched 15 undergraduate and postgraduate programs taught entirely in English.

-Offered more than 120 courses taught entirely in English.

-6 brand courses taught entirely in English have passed the construction acceptance inspection.
