Five Years of Endeavors, Bountiful Fruits in Sight

The five years of the "14th Five-Year Plan" have been a magnificent chapter in which all faculty, students and staff have worked diligently to fulfill the grand blueprint. We have courageously undertaken the mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, fully implemented the fundamental task of moral education, forged ahead in such fields as Party building, talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, as well as international exchanges and cooperation, and jointly depicted a grand blueprint for the high-quality development of University of Science and Technology.

Standing at the historical juncture where the "14th Five-Year Plan" has been successfully concluded and the grand vision of the "15th Five-Year Plan" awaits to be unfolded, to freeze the wonderful moments and enlighten the future, we hereby select the representative highlights from various fields starting today, so as to gather the strength for forging ahead.

Launched today – New Vitality in Cultural Development

Strengthening Ideological Foundation, Fostering Talents with Integrity and Innovation

-Convened the Conference on Propaganda, Ideological and Cultural Work.

-School of Marxism approved as a key cultivation unit of Marxist Colleges and Universities in Hebei Province

-The "Bi-Monthly Forum on Hot Issues" has been held for 32 years, accumulating 510 sessions.

-Improved 12 institutional documents related to the "Three-Way Education" model.

Ideological and Political Education Bears Fruit

-The exploration of practical education on the Long March Spirit was recognized as an Excellent Case in National University Ideological and Political Work.

-4 projects were selected into the Ministry of Education's High-Quality Construction Project List; won over 40 national and provincial awards for outstanding achievements in university ideological and political work.

-44 student teams were selected into the National College Student Volunteer Service Publicity Corps.

Continuous Expansion of Cultural Spaces

-Built the University History Museum and Science & Technology Achievement Exhibition Hall, constructing the cultural sphere of "One Lake, Three Museums".

-Established the University Song Stone cultural landmark.

-Implemented the Characteristic Campus Cultural Nurturing Initiative, approved 35 cultural brand projects for development.

-Established 12 distinctive reading spaces.

Vigorous Growth in Literary and Artistic Creation

-3 works, including "Alumni Stories Told by Youth", were selected into the Ministry of Education's "Revering China's Excellent Traditional Culture" Promotion List.

-Won over 50 provincial and national awards at the College Student Online Culture Festival.

-Won over 20 awards at the Cannes Film Festival and Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival.

-Won over 100 national awards in design and fine arts.

-The original stage play "The Ode of Gears" received funding from the China Association for Science and Technology's Youth Science and Technology Center.

HEBUST's Story Told Vividly

-Published over 800 articles featuring the university's characteristics and highlights in mainstream media.

-Launched over 30 special columns including "Pursuing Stars - Aiming High" and "UST Specialists in Action".

-Selected and publicized over 150 advanced models among faculty and students.

-Recognized three times as an Advanced Unit for Educational Publicity in Hebei Province.

Enhancing Standards and Expanding Scope in Civilized Campus Creation

-Selected as a nominated institution for National Civilized Campus.

-Consecutively recognized as a Hebei Provincial Civilized Campus.

-Selected among the first batch of National Healthy School Construction Units.

-Recognized as a Hebei Provincial Green School.

-Campus Culture Week, Art Competitions, Lakeside Music Festival, Cultural Masters on Campus, Cherry Blossom Viewing and Intangible Cultural Heritage Appreciation, and other cultural activities have been brilliantly organized.
