Hebei University of Science and Technology Inaugurates Undergraduate Education and Teaching Forum
To further drive breakthrough innovations in key areas of education and teaching, the university will host the Undergraduate Education and Teaching Forum, focusing on professional development, curriculum construction, industry-education integration, digital intelligent teaching, and curriculum-integrated ideological and political education, among other themes.
On March 24, the first lecture of the forum was held, featuring a keynote speech by Hua Changyin, Director of the Art and Science Book Branch of China Textile & Apparel Press. Li Fatang, Vice President of the university, attended the forum and delivered an opening address.
Vice President Li Fatang noted that the Education and Teaching Forum is a grand feast of ideas and a collision of wisdom. He expressed his expectation that the forum would serve as a bridge to gather the wisdom and strength of experts and colleagues, encouraging open discussions, exchanges, and mutual growth around the opportunities and challenges facing higher education development, so as to inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the university's education and teaching.
Delivering a speech titled Exploration and Publication of Textbook Development in Colleges and Universities, Hua Changyin conducted an in-depth analysis of new paths and methods for college textbook development, combining national policy orientations and trends in the publishing industry. He systematically sorted out multiple publishing programs including academic public services, the National Publishing Fund, and key national projects, and elaborated on the application criteria and support intensity for each program.
At the lecture, Hua Changyin held in-depth exchanges with attending teachers on topics such as updating textbook compilation concepts and paths for digital textbook development, and discussed solutions to practical issues in textbook compilation and publication.
The Undergraduate Education and Teaching Forum is one of the academic exchange events for the university's 70th anniversary. This lecture was co-hosted by the Academic Affairs Office and the College of Textile Science and Engineering, with more than 100 teacher representatives from all teaching units in attendance.
