HEBUST Held a High-end Forum for Foreign Experts
On October 30th, HEBUST held a high-end forum for foreign experts, in order to further deepen international exchanges and cooperation, broaden the international horizons of teachers and students, and enhance the international level of talent cultivation. HEBUST invited GaoWei, Fellow of Royal Academy of Sciences New Zealand (RSNZ) and Academy of Engineering New Zealand (EnNZ), and professor of the University of Auckland; WangRuili, Fellow of EnNZ and professor of Massey University; HuAiguo, president of the New Zealand Chinese Scientist Association (NZCSA), and professor of the University of Auckland; Mike Hodgson, associatedean of the School of Engineering Management at the University of Auckland; and Bruce, a famous New Zealand education expert and executive director of Wentworth Institute to give keynote speeches. Zhang Wenli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of HEBUST, attended and delivered a speech. Yang Lijun,Deputy Director of the Foreign Experts Division of Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Xing Xinping, project supervisor of Hebei International Education Cooperation Center, and Gao Zilong, project specialist of Hebei International Education Cooperation Center attended the meeting.
Zhang Wenli extended a warm welcome to all the experts. He pointed out that HEBUST has always attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, actively expanded international exchange channels, and established extensive and in-depth cooperative relationships with many well-known foreign universities and scientific research institutions,strongly promoting the discipline construction and talent cultivation of HEBUST. The arrival of all the experts is a rare learning and exchange opportunity for teachers and students of HEBUST. It is hoped that all teachers and students can draw on the international cutting-edge scientific research ideas and methods, integrate them into their own teaching, scientific research and learning, actively expand their international horizons,strive to learn professional knowledge, and focus on enhancing professional abilities, so as to lay a solid foundation for future academic development.
At the meeting, the experts gave keynote speeches on the innovative applications in the field of artificial intelligence research, the frontier technology development of wireless power transmission and its application in renewable energy, application cases of material science in high and new technologies, and New Zealand’s experience in education and innovation. The reportswere rich in content with distinct themes. They not only analyzed the hot issues at the academic frontier but also provided specific methodological guidance for academic research, enriching the academic horizons of teachers and students, and laying a solid foundation for promoting the high-quality development of HEBUST in fields such as artificial intelligence and material science in the future.
The meeting was presided over by Xu Jianzhong, Secretary of the Party Committeeof the School of Materials atHEBUST.
