Our University Holds a Seminar on Economic Reform and Management Innovation in the AI Era
On March 29, our university held the Seminar on Economic Reform and Management Innovation in the AI Era. More than 70 deans, experts and scholars from schools of economics and management at universities inside and outside Hebei Province gathered to discuss new development opportunities in the digital intelligence era. Xu Zhice and Zhang Dongli, Vice Presidents of our university, attended the meeting. Also present were alumni including Huang Qunhui (Class of 1982, Management Engineering, Researcher at the Institute of Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Wu Yiqing (Class of 1980, Management Engineering, former Vice President of Hebei University of Economics and Business), Wang Jianjun (Class of 1996, Management Information System, Professor at Dalian University of Technology), and Zhao Xian (Class of 1998, Industrial Engineering, Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Beijing Institute of Technology).
In his speech, Xu Zhice pointed out that holding this seminar is an important measure for the university to adhere to its educational orientation and serve regional development. Focusing on the new opportunities and challenges in the artificial intelligence era, the seminar explores how artificial intelligence empowers economic transformation and leads the innovation of management models, which is of great significance for laying out future tracks in a forward-looking manner and seizing development opportunities. The university will take the initiative to adapt to changes and pursue progress, join hands with peers from all sectors to forge ahead in the broad development space of artificial intelligence, jointly explore new paths for economic reform and management innovation, and contribute the strength of Hebei University of Science and Technology to promoting the high-quality development of regional economy.
Qu Ying, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, introduced the school’s educational philosophy and its achievements in discipline construction, scientific research and social services. She stated that the school will fully promote the upgrading of professional construction empowered by digital intelligence, achieve a number of high-level research results relying on various scientific research platforms, effectively serve local economic development, and continuously enhance the vitality of discipline development and the quality of talent training.
In his speech, Huang Qunhui extended sincere wishes to his alma mater and expressed great pride in the remarkable achievements his alma mater has made in the past 70 years by taking root in the Yanzhao region and serving local development. He noted that this seminar has built an efficient exchange platform for academia and industry, and is of important practical significance for reshaping industrial logic and breaking through development bottlenecks. He hoped that experts and scholars would explore effective paths for management innovation empowered by artificial intelligence through in-depth discussions, injecting new impetus of the times into promoting the high-quality development of regional economy.
At the meeting, Huang Qunhui, Wu Yiqing, Wang Jianjun and other experts and scholars delivered keynote speeches respectively. They focused on hot topics such as the development trend of digital economy, the integration of artificial intelligence and industrial economy, and the innovation of management models in the new era, sharing cutting-edge academic views and practical experience, and conducting in-depth exchanges and discussions on the integration of industry, education and research, the training of innovative talents, and the high-quality development of regional economy.
The successful holding of this seminar has built a high-end academic exchange platform for schools inside and outside the province, promoted academic exchanges and mutual learning between universities, and provided new ideas and new paths for exploring economic reform and management innovation in the artificial intelligence era.
